The person you call is the one who flies.
I'm Tim Piastrelli. The Herdsmen is my drone business for farms, ranches, estates and solar arrays. I plan every job myself. There's no call center and no subcontracted pilot.
Why I started The Herdsmen

Tim Piastrelli
Founder & pilotMy family runs Three Waters Farm (opens in a new tab) in Ghent (opens in a new tab). It's a certified organic farmstead with grass-fed cattle, sheep, laying hens and a solar array of its own, and it's our home, so it's an estate as well as a farm. Everything on this site gets used on our own place before I offer it to yours.
I've spent my career in robotics, self-driving vehicles, drones and cybersecurity. I built and secured systems that run on their own and fail safely when something goes wrong.
Farmers and ranchers never have enough hours in the day. I started The Herdsmen to do the routine and hard-to-reach jobs faster, from the air. That leaves them more time for the decisions only they can make.
I work by six values: Land as kin, Soil health, Organic first, Nothing wasted, Trust first and No shortcuts. What each one means.
How we work
Every job ends in a record
A report, a head count, or a record of what was applied or cleaned, for you to act on or file.
We'll tell you if it's a bad fit
If a job isn't proven on our equipment, we say so before we take it on.
What we fly
The DJI Matrice 30T and Matrice 4TD do the ranch work, day or night, and the inspections, estate visits included. Both carry thermal cameras. The 4TD can live on your property in a DJI Dock 3 and fly on a schedule. The DJI Agras T100 waters, fertilizes and seeds fields, and cleans solar panels and clears snow off them. It carries a 100-liter spray tank or a 150-liter spreader hopper.
